SBI General Insurance is encouraging customers to rethink traditional festive gifting by considering health insurance as a way to protect their loved ones. Through its retail health insurance product, SBI General Health Alpha, the company offers flexible coverage options that allow customers to customise health protection for eligible family members and relatives, combining festive celebrations with long-term healthcare and financial preparedness.

While conventional gifts often bring momentary happiness, health insurance can provide protection against eligible medical expenses and support financial security. SBI General Insurance is positioning health protection as a meaningful expression of care during festivals, when families come together to celebrate relationships and strengthen bonds.

SBI General Health Alpha is designed around the philosophy of “Your Health. Your Cover. Your Way” and offers more than 40 coverage options. Customers can customise their plans according to their lifestyle, healthcare priorities and protection requirements. The product allows eligible customers to purchase individual health insurance protection for a legally married spouse, children, parents, brothers, sisters, parents-in-law, nephews, nieces and other relatives with an insurable interest, subject to the product’s eligibility criteria and policy terms and conditions.

With sum insured options ranging from Rs. 5 lakh to unlimited, the product offers flexibility in selecting coverage levels alongside a range of benefits designed to address different healthcare needs.

Speaking about the festive season initiative, Mr. Mohd. Arif Khan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, SBI General Insurance, said festivals celebrate relationships and the care people share with their loved ones. He noted that while gifting remains an integral part of festive celebrations, helping protect the health and financial well-being of loved ones is among the meaningful gestures families can make.

“With SBI General Health Alpha, we aim to make health insurance more personalised and accessible, empowering customers to choose protection that suits their needs and lifestyle. We encourage families to make health and well-being a priority this festive season and consider the gift of protection as a lasting expression of care,” Khan said.
