Indian Railways Adds Extra AC Coaches to 10 Special Trains Ahead of Diwali and Chhath
Indian Railways is adding extra AC coaches to 10 special trains ahead of Diwali and Chhath. Check train numbers, routes and November operating dates for services connecting Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other destinations.
Heavy crowds and long waiting lists are common during the festive season, making confirmed reservations difficult to obtain. The addition of extra AC coaches is expected to increase berth availability for passengers travelling on these busy routes.
Passengers planning their journeys should check the schedules of the 10 selected special trains announced for November.
Train number 04014, the Anand Vihar Terminal–Laukaha Bazar Special, will operate from November 1 to 13, while train number 04013, running from Laukaha Bazar to Anand Vihar Terminal, will operate from November 2 to 14.
Train number 04028, the Anand Vihar Terminal–Muzaffarpur Special, will run from November 3 to 13. Its return service, train number 04027, from Muzaffarpur to Anand Vihar Terminal, will operate from November 4 to 14.
The Varanasi–Delhi Special, train number 04209, will operate from November 2 to 13, while train number 04210, the Delhi–Varanasi Special, will run from November 3 to 14.
Train number 04616, listed as the Patna Special, will operate from November 3 to 10. Train number 04615, the Patna–Firozpur Cantt Special, will run from November 4 to 11.
The Amritsar–Barauni Special, train number 04668, will operate from November 1 to 15. Its counterpart, train number 04667, the Barauni–Amritsar Special, will run from November 3 to 17.
The additional AC coaches are intended to ease pressure on regular services, which often fill up months in advance during major festivals. Passengers who cannot secure confirmed tickets may otherwise face limited travel options, including travelling in general coaches or cancelling their journeys.
Travellers using busy routes connecting Anand Vihar, New Delhi, Varanasi, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Barauni and Amritsar are expected to benefit from the increased capacity.
Railway authorities have urged passengers to make reservations in advance through the official IRCTC website or app to avoid last-minute inconvenience and heavy festive crowds. With additional AC coaches being attached to these 10 special trains, passengers will have more opportunities to obtain reserved berths for their festive journeys.
