CJP Leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka Get Bail; Chirag Paswan Reacts
CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka secured bail from a Delhi SEM court after seven days in Tihar Jail. Chirag Paswan commented on bail conditions, while RJD spokesperson Priyanka Bharti welcomed their release and criticised the BJP.
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Chirag Paswan said the matter was part of the judicial process but cautioned against repeated violations of bail conditions. “Look, this is part of the judicial process. But yes, if there are repeated violations, if they go back on their words and fail to comply with the bond under which they are granted bail, then I believe we cannot allow our country to fall into the hands of anarchic thinking,” he said.
The RJD also reacted to the bail granted to the two leaders of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). In a post on X, Priyanka Bharti tagged Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das and wrote, “Long live, comrades. Congratulations on your release. Jai Hind, Jai Tiranga.”
In another post on X, Bharti targeted the BJP over the bond requirement. “The British used to make people sign bonds to hoist the Tricolour, and today the BJP does the same! The superhuman must be happy after making Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka sign bonds! By the way, what happened to the bond the RSS gave Sardar Patel, promising that the organisation would love the Tricolour and respect the Constitution?” she wrote.
Delhi: On the SEM Court issuing release orders for CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, Union Minister Chirag Paswan says, "This is part of the judicial process. However, if they repeatedly disregard their commitments and fail to abide by the conditions of the bond under which they have been granted bail, I believe we cannot allow our country to fall into the hands of anarchic thinking."

Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, leaders of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), spent seven days in Tihar Jail following their detention during a flag-hoisting incident at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Police took the two into custody on October 13 while they were hoisting the Tricolour at the protest site.
On October 14, they were sent to judicial custody and lodged in Tihar Jail for an initial period of five days. Their judicial custody was subsequently extended by another two days. The Delhi SEM court ordered their release on bail on October 21, bringing their seven-day period in custody to an end.

The bail order has brought the detention episode into the political spotlight, with Chirag Paswan stressing compliance with bail conditions and the RJD linking the bond requirement to the broader debate over the Tricolour and respect for the Constitution.
