Uttar Pradesh Cites Improved Law and Order, Power Supply to Boost Business Growth
Uttar Pradesh is highlighting improved law and order and electricity supply as drivers of business growth. With peak power demand reaching 32,673 MW on June 24, 2026, the state faces growing requirements while focusing on safer markets and reliable power.
Law and Order Measures Focus on Traders’ Security
Maintaining law and order and improving electricity supply from villages to metropolitan areas remain among the priorities of the Yogi government. Under its zero-tolerance policy, the government has intensified action to curb crime and organised criminal activities.
Police enforcement, action under the Gangsters Act, property attachment and surveillance of illegal activities are among the measures being used to focus on crime control. The government’s objective is to provide a secure environment for ordinary citizens and traders.
Stronger security arrangements in markets are helping commercial activities operate smoothly. Police personnel are also conducting patrols around the clock to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens.
Electricity Supply Expands from Villages to Cities
Improvements in the electricity system are another important aspect of the state’s business environment. Under the government’s prescribed schedule, district headquarters are allotted 24 hours of electricity supply, tehsil headquarters receive 21 hours and 30 minutes, and rural areas are scheduled to receive 18 hours of power.
According to departmental claims, several areas are receiving electricity for longer than the prescribed schedule. Instructions have also been issued to ensure 24-hour electricity supply in district, tehsil and rural areas.
Improved availability of electricity is making it easier for shops, small industries, markets and other commercial establishments to continue their operations.
Rising Demand Poses Challenge to Power Supply
Electricity demand in Uttar Pradesh has continued to increase. According to the available figures, the state’s maximum peak demand stood at 12,327 MW in 2014, rising to 16,110 MW in 2017. Demand increased further in subsequent years.
During the Yogi government’s tenure, the state successfully met a record electricity demand of 32,673 MW on June 24, 2026. Ensuring adequate power availability amid rising requirements remains an important responsibility for the government and the electricity department.
Reliable electricity supply can benefit not only markets but also manufacturing, the services sector and small businesses, helping them maintain operations as demand for power grows.
Law and Order and Reliable Power Key to Investment and Employment
A strong law-and-order system, regular electricity supply, roads and other basic infrastructure are important for attracting investment and expanding commercial activities in any state.
Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is focusing on creating a business-friendly environment through crime control measures and improvements in the electricity system.
Secure markets and uninterrupted power supply play an important role in helping traders maintain smooth operations. These measures also provide operational support to shops, commercial establishments and small industries. Together, security arrangements and electricity infrastructure remain central to the state’s efforts to support business activity, investment and employment.
