Sonia Gandhi makes her Instagram debut with a first glimpse of ‘Belonging: A Journey of Love’. A video featuring Priyanka Gandhi’s photographs offers a preview of the book’s themes of love, family, loss and belonging.
Sharing the video, Sonia Gandhi wrote, “Hello everyone, I am very grateful to share the first glimpse of ‘Belonging: A Journey of Love’ with all of you. It is a story of love, responsibility, the pain of separation and the search for a place to belong. I am looking forward to sharing it with all of you.”
The video also shows the book’s publisher, HarperCollins, presenting Sonia Gandhi with three copies of the book. The publisher congratulates her on the book, and Sonia thanks them before beginning to turn through its pages.
The video offers an early look at the book, which explores themes of love, family, responsibility, loss and belonging through Sonia Gandhi’s personal journey.
Earlier, a teaser for the book was released, offering a glimpse into Sonia Gandhi’s life and her journey into the Gandhi family. According to the teaser, Sonia Maino met Rajiv Gandhi in Cambridge when she was 18 years old. Three years later, at the age of 21, she came to India to marry him.

The teaser stated that Sonia chose to become part of the family not only on the day of her wedding but also every day thereafter. She built a family, raised two children and made India her home. She then faced a loss for which, the teaser suggested, no one could ever be prepared.
At the age of 21, Sonia Gandhi took on responsibilities she had never imagined. The teaser conveyed that what began as a journey of love gradually evolved into a story of belonging to a family and, eventually, to an entire country.
Through the first glimpse shared on Instagram and the earlier teaser, the upcoming book presents Sonia Gandhi’s journey through personal relationships, family responsibilities, grief and her evolving connection with India.
