Pawan Khera Meets Sonam Wangchuk on 20th Day of Hunger Strike as Exam Leak Protest Intensifies
Congress leader Pawan Khera visited activist Sonam Wangchuk at Jantar Mantar on the 20th day of his hunger strike against examination paper leaks, including NEET-UG. As Wangchuk's health deteriorates due to low blood pressure, dehydration, and weight loss, political tensions have escalated over demands for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and the planned July 20 march to Parliament.
Sonam Wangchuk joined the Cockroach Janta Party's campaign demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over repeated examination paper leak allegations. According to details shared during the protest, Wangchuk's health has weakened significantly after 20 days of fasting. His weight has reportedly dropped to 56.55 kilograms, while he is also suffering from low blood pressure and dehydration, raising concerns about his medical condition.
During his visit, Pawan Khera criticized the Union Government, accusing it of displaying insensitivity toward the concerns raised by students and protesters. He extended support to Wangchuk's campaign and reiterated the demand for accountability over examination paper leaks that have triggered widespread public concern.
The political confrontation intensified after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reportedly dismissed the protesters as a "B-team." The controversy deepened further when a Bharatiya Janata Party leader described Sonam Wangchuk as a "Chinese agent," triggering widespread backlash and adding another layer of political tension to the ongoing protest.
Despite mounting health concerns and the political controversy surrounding the agitation, Sonam Wangchuk remains committed to the campaign. He is scheduled to lead a march to Parliament on July 20, marking the next phase of the movement demanding accountability over examination paper leaks and reinforcing calls for the Education Minister's resignation.
The protest has emerged as a significant flashpoint in the national debate over examination integrity, government accountability, and the handling of allegations related to paper leaks, with political exchanges and public attention continuing to intensify as Wangchuk's planned march to Parliament approaches.
