Navi Mumbai International Airport Launches First International Flights, Abu Dhabi Route Begins Operations

Air India Express had announced the opening of bookings for Abu Dhabi flights on June 21. International operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport officially commence on July 15 with the launch of the Abu Dhabi route. Along with domestic services, the airport will now offer international travel facilities, marking a significant milestone in its operational expansion.

Adani Airports Holdings Limited stated that the new Abu Dhabi service will operate three times a week, providing direct connectivity to the United Arab Emirates in West Asia. The company confirmed that international operations are being launched with the Abu Dhabi route as the first destination. As passenger demand and airport operations expand, direct flights to Dubai, Singapore, Doha, Bangkok, and other international destinations are expected to be introduced in the future.

The launch of international services from Navi Mumbai International Airport is expected to ease passenger pressure on Mumbai's existing airport. Residents of Navi Mumbai, Thane, Panvel, Raigad, and surrounding areas will no longer need to travel long distances to reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for many international journeys. The new airport is expected to reduce travel time, ease road traffic, and provide a more convenient travel experience for passengers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The commencement of international flights marks a significant step in strengthening aviation infrastructure in the Mumbai region.
