REVA University inaugurated its 2026–2027 non-technical programmes batch with a strong focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence readiness and holistic education. Chancellor Dr. P. Shyama Raju and industry leaders inspired students to embrace experiential learning, leadership, sustainability and professional excellence through the University's Educate to Enterprise philosophy.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. P. Shyama Raju, Chancellor of REVA University, who reaffirmed the institution's vision of creating innovators, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens. The event was attended by Shri Milind Shah, Vice President – Cognitive Infrastructure Services, LTM, and Shri Supreet Sachdev, Office Managing Partner, Bangalore, KPMG India, as the guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. P. Shyama Raju emphasised the University's commitment to providing a holistic educational environment that encourages experiential learning and independent thinking. He stated that REVA University believes in learning through practical experience and motivates students to ask questions, acquire hands-on knowledge, think independently and transform ideas into impactful solutions. Highlighting the University's "Educate to Enterprise" philosophy, he said the institution aims to nurture job creators instead of job seekers by producing leaders who inspire innovation and make meaningful contributions to society.
Speaking to the newly admitted students, Shri Supreet Sachdev encouraged them to embrace every challenge with confidence while remaining grounded throughout their academic and professional journey. Comparing life to a game of cricket, he urged students to face challenges with determination and continue learning throughout their lives, stressing that personal and professional growth comes to a halt when learning stops.
He further advised students to develop agility, effective communication, integrity, collaboration, teamwork and time management, stating that these qualities are equally important as academic excellence. He also reminded students that failure should never be feared and should instead be viewed as a stepping stone towards greater success.
Sharing insights from his professional journey, Shri Milind Shah spoke about the rapidly evolving workplace and the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping the future of careers. He encouraged students to learn from every assignment and every opportunity, saying that each experience contributes to professional growth. He emphasised that the future will be driven by Artificial Intelligence and urged students to prepare themselves accordingly.
Shri Milind Shah also advised students to focus on customer-centricity, value creation, professionalism, integrity, effective communication and leadership, describing these qualities as the defining characteristics of successful professionals in the years ahead.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, every newly admitted student received a sapling to symbolise the beginning of their academic journey and their commitment to environmental sustainability. The initiative forms part of REVA Vanamahotsava, the University's flagship environmental movement based on the principle of "One Student, One Tree," encouraging every student to plant and nurture a tree throughout their time at the University.
The programme was attended by Dr. Sanjay R. Chitnis, Vice Chancellor; Dr. M. Dhanamjaya, Registrar; Dr. Beena G., Registrar (Evaluation); Dr. Shubha A., Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans, Directors, faculty members, parents and students.
The inauguration also marked the commencement of a comprehensive student induction programme designed to help freshers transition smoothly into university life. Through a series of interactive sessions, students will receive detailed information about their academic programmes, campus facilities, industry exposure, student clubs, research opportunities, entrepreneurship initiatives and the University's vibrant learning ecosystem.
With its multidisciplinary curriculum, industry-integrated learning model and sustained emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship and holistic development, REVA University continues to empower students with the knowledge, practical skills and professional mindset required to succeed in an increasingly dynamic global environment. The inauguration of the 2026–2027 non-technical programmes batch reinforced the University's long-term commitment to preparing future leaders capable of driving innovation, enterprise and sustainable societal progress.
