Mobile Volume Dispute Turns AC Coach of Indore-Mumbai Central Train Into Battleground, Woman Assaults Passenger With Slipper

A mobile phone volume dispute in the AC coach of the Indore-Mumbai Central train turned violent when a woman passenger allegedly assaulted a youth with her slipper. The Railway Protection Force removed both sides at Ratlam, and Ujjain Government Railway Police registered cross complaints after the incident.

A dispute over loud mobile phone audio inside an AC coach of the Indore-Mumbai Central train escalated into a violent confrontation, turning a peaceful railway journey into a scene of chaos. A woman passenger and a group of youths got involved in a heated argument after she objected to the loud volume of a video being played on a mobile phone. The disagreement soon intensified and resulted in a physical altercation inside the coach.

During the argument, the woman allegedly lost her temper and started hitting one of the youths with her slipper. Other passengers present inside the coach attempted to intervene and separate both sides, but the situation remained tense for some time. The incident later reached the Railway Police, following which both parties were removed from the train at Ratlam and taken to Ujjain Government Railway Police Station, where cross complaints were registered from both sides.

According to available information, Mumbai resident Virendra Singh had visited Ujjain along with some of his friends for the religious visit of Lord Mahakal. After completing the visit, he boarded the Indore-Mumbai Central train and was travelling back to Mumbai in an AC 3-tier coach. The woman involved in the dispute had boarded the same train from Indore and was travelling towards Surat.

According to eyewitness accounts and complaints submitted to the police, Virendra Singh was sitting inside the coach with his friends and watching a video on his mobile phone at a high volume. The loud sound disturbed the woman passenger, who objected and asked him either to reduce the volume or use earphones.

Following the complaint, the Railway Protection Force team was alerted. When the train reached Ratlam Railway Station, the RPF personnel removed both parties from the train. They were later sent back to Ujjain through another train as the matter fell under the jurisdiction of Ujjain Government Railway Police Station.

After reaching the Ujjain Government Railway Police Station, both parties submitted written complaints against each other. The police registered cross complaints based on the statements provided and began further proceedings in connection with the dispute.

The incident highlights how minor disagreements over passenger behaviour and mobile phone usage during train journeys can escalate into serious confrontations, affecting the safety and comfort of fellow travellers inside railway coaches.
