Punjab Government Assures Job Security for Forest Department Workers, Minister Holds Talks with Employee Unions
Punjab Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak assured forest department workers of job security and no retrenchment during a meeting with employee unions. The Minister reviewed service-related demands, directed officials to resolve pending issues within a fixed timeline, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to worker welfare
The Minister patiently heard the concerns raised by the union representatives and assured them that their genuine demands would receive sympathetic and positive consideration within the framework of government policies.
Reaffirming the state government’s employee-friendly approach, Lal Chand Kataruchak categorically stated that no employee currently serving in the Forest and Wildlife Department would face retrenchment. He emphasized that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains committed to ensuring job security and dignity of labour for every worker associated with the department.
The Minister further directed senior department officials to maintain continuous coordination with employee unions and work towards the time-bound resolution of pending matters.
Those present during the meeting included Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force) Dharminder Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forests (Plains) Nidhi Srivastava, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Budget) Sourav Gupta, State President of Forest Worker Union Amrik Singh, State President of Democratic Forest Employees Union Rachhpal Singh Jodhanagri, and President of Punjab State Forest Department Worker Union Balveer Singh Mandoli.
The meeting highlighted the Punjab Government’s commitment towards addressing employee concerns, strengthening communication with forest workers, and ensuring continued employment protection for personnel serving in the Forest and Wildlife Department.
