VinFast VF 6 Earth Brings Advanced Safety Features to India's Roads Under Rs. 20 Lakh
VinFast VF 6 Earth brings a five-star Bharat NCAP rating, seven airbags and advanced safety features to India's roads. Discover how its standard driving aids, parking assistance, warranty and charging benefits add to the electric SUV's appeal under Rs. 20 lakh.
The VF 6 has received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection, while seven airbags are offered as standard. The electric SUV also incorporates multiple driving assistance and braking systems aimed at improving vehicle control and safety in challenging road conditions.
Electronic stability control (ESC) is among the key features available on the VF 6 Earth. The system can apply braking force to individual wheels when the vehicle begins to lose stability, helping drivers maintain control during sudden manoeuvres. The feature can be particularly useful on wet or winding roads, where sudden changes in direction may affect vehicle stability.
The SUV also comes equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA). ABS helps prevent the wheels from locking during hard braking, while EBD distributes braking force across the wheels. Brake assist provides additional stopping force when a driver applies the brakes suddenly but does not press the pedal firmly enough.
Traction control system (TCS) is another feature designed to help drivers maintain control. It reduces excessive wheelspin during acceleration, particularly on muddy or slippery surfaces. The system can be useful during India's monsoon season, when heavy rainfall can significantly change road conditions.
For motorists travelling through hilly areas, hill-start assist is designed to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards when starting on an incline. The system briefly maintains braking pressure after the vehicle stops on a slope, giving the driver time to move from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
In urban traffic, Auto Hold offers additional convenience by keeping the VF 6 Earth stationary after it comes to a stop. Drivers can release the brake pedal while the vehicle remains stationary until they are ready to move again. The feature is particularly useful in stop-and-go traffic in cities such as Bengaluru and Mumbai.
Beyond its braking and stability systems, the VF 6's five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection and standard seven-airbag configuration provide additional safety provisions for occupants.
The SUV also incorporates features intended to help drivers navigate crowded streets and confined parking spaces.
Blind spot detection warns drivers when another vehicle enters an area that may not be visible through the mirrors. The system is designed to provide additional awareness when changing lanes, particularly on busy Indian roads where motorcycles and other vehicles approach from multiple directions.
For reversing and parking, the VF 6 Earth features a 360-degree camera that provides a clearer view of the vehicle's surroundings. Parking sensors also alert drivers to nearby obstacles, helping them manoeuvre into tight spaces.
Measuring 4,241 mm in length, the VF 6 is designed to handle crowded urban streets, while its 2,730 mm wheelbase provides cabin space for a family of five.
The Earth variant includes these safety and parking assistance features as standard, despite being the entry-level model. Buyers receive electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, blind spot detection and parking assistance without having to upgrade to a higher trim.
Beyond the vehicle's features, VinFast is offering complimentary charging at eligible V-Green stations through March 31, 2029. The company is also providing free maintenance for three years or 36,000 km, whichever comes first.
The vehicle warranty extends to seven years or 160,000 km, while battery coverage is available for ten years or 200,000 km, subject to whichever limit is reached first.
Although systems such as ABS, traction control and hill-start assist may not be used actively by drivers every day, they are designed to provide assistance in situations involving slippery roads, busy junctions and difficult parking conditions. Their inclusion in the entry-level VF 6 Earth adds a range of practical safety features to an electric family SUV priced under Rs. 20 lakh.
