Neeraj Kumar Wins Patna Graduate MLC Seat, Anant Singh Concedes Defeat and Targets Rival
Neeraj Kumar has won the Patna Graduate MLC seat in Bihar, while Anant Singh has conceded defeat. Read what the JD(U) candidate said about his victory and why Anant Singh refused to congratulate him.
Following his victory, Neeraj Kumar thanked party chief Nitish Kumar and Nishant Kumar, while crediting party workers for his success. He also took aim at expelled JD(U) MLA Anant Singh, who had supported a rival candidate in the election.
Targeting Anant Singh, Neeraj Kumar said, "Those who are themselves out on bail are talking about someone else's security deposit being forfeited." He also used Anant Singh's own style of expression to taunt him, saying, "Ae Gunjan, take the sweets away."
Meanwhile, Anant Singh has conceded defeat in the election, acknowledging that the public is the ultimate authority. Speaking to the media, he said he did not get enough time to prepare and register voters, which contributed to his defeat.
"People are the masters and God. We did not get time. Winning and losing keep happening. We respect the party and will continue to do so," Anant Singh said.
He maintained that the limited time available for voter registration was the reason for his loss, while asserting that people across Bihar love him. During his interaction with the media, Anant Singh repeatedly clarified that he had no resentment towards the party and that his disagreement was solely with Neeraj Kumar.
Anant Singh Refuses to Congratulate Neeraj Kumar
Anant Singh acknowledged his defeat during a media interaction, saying, "Yes, we have lost." He said that in this election, only those who register voters get their votes, and he did not have sufficient time to enrol voters.
Anant Singh also made it clear that he would not congratulate Neeraj Kumar on his victory.
He alleged that Neeraj Kumar had taken the Dularchand Yadav case to Delhi, which forced him to go there. Anant Singh further stated that he had supported Anuj Singh because he was unhappy with Neeraj Kumar.
"I was angry with Neeraj Kumar, so I supported Anuj Singh," Anant Singh said.
What Neeraj Kumar Said After His Victory
After the victory, Neeraj Kumar said that a person should become an object of envy rather than pity.
"I was born into a poor family. I have neither money power nor muscle power, but nobody has more worker power than me," he said.
Taking another swipe at his opponents, Neeraj Kumar said the sweets prepared by them had salt in them, suggesting that their expectations of victory had been misplaced.
With Neeraj Kumar claiming victory and Anant Singh conceding defeat, the Patna Graduate constituency election has witnessed a sharp exchange between the two political rivals. While the formal result announcement remains pending, both leaders have made their positions clear following the outcome.
