India Seal T20I Series Against New Zealand, Two Matches Left in the Schedule
India have clinched the T20I series against New Zealand with three consecutive wins, but two matches remain. Check the October 30 and November 1 fixtures, venues, and what follows in the five-match ODI series.
India won the first two matches by four wickets each before securing a six-wicket victory in the third and most crucial encounter. The result confirmed India's series win, but the contest is not over yet. The hosts will now aim to win both remaining matches and prevent New Zealand from making a comeback in the series.
The fourth T20 International will be played on Friday, October 30, at Eden Park in Auckland. The fifth and final match is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, in Hamilton. The series will conclude with that encounter, bringing the five-match T20I contest to an end.
However, India's tour of New Zealand will continue after the T20I series. A five-match One Day International series is scheduled to begin on November 3. Only a few players from the T20I squad are expected to feature in the ODI series as well.
The upcoming ODI series will be significant for India as the team is expected to begin preparations for next year's ODI World Cup. Shubman Gill will lead the side, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also set to feature.
The ICC ODI World Cup will be held from October to November next year, jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Its schedule has already been released. With two T20Is still remaining before the ODI leg begins, India will look to maintain its winning momentum and finish the ongoing series on a high.
