Content Creator Reimagines Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Hit Rap to Promote Protest Safety During Delhi Education Reform Demonstration
Thousands of students and activists continue protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test paper leak, while content creator Keshav Maloo, known as Sarcaster, has gone viral after creatively reimagining Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Desi Kalakaar into a practical protest safety guide, earning widespread praise across social media for combining awareness, creativity, and public safety.
One such effort has attracted widespread attention on social media after content creator Keshav Maloo, popularly known as Sarcaster on Instagram, creatively transformed the rap segment of Yo Yo Honey Singh’s 2014 chart-topping track Desi Kalakaar, from the album of the same name, into a practical guide for individuals planning to participate in the ongoing demonstrations.
The video synchronises with the song’s fast-paced rap while replacing the original lyrics with essential safety instructions for protesters. Instead of recreating the original verses, the creator presents a checklist of items and precautions that participants should consider before attending the demonstration.

At the beginning of the video, viewers are advised to carry cash, placards, markers, personal identification documents, protective goggles, a face mask, a water bottle, and comfortable sneakers. The creator also recommends packing a first-aid kit, saving an emergency contact on their mobile phone, informing family members about their location during the protest, eating before attending, and carrying a fully charged power bank to remain connected throughout the event.
The video further emphasises that personal safety should remain the highest priority while participating in public demonstrations. In the closing segment, the recreated rap delivers a message calling for justice for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test students while expressing determination and resilience through newly written lines inspired by the original song.
The caption accompanying the Instagram post reads, “How to be safe during protest.”
The creative approach has received an enthusiastic response across social media platforms, with many users praising the innovative adaptation of a nostalgic rap song into a practical protest safety guide.
One user described the video as “Creativity at its peak,” while another commented that it gave them goosebumps. A different user called it an “Absolute banger,” and another praised the effort by writing that the video was amazing, gave them goosebumps, wished the protesters strength, and urged everyone to stay protected.
The viral video has emerged as one of the most notable examples of how digital creators are using popular culture to support social movements, transforming familiar entertainment into an accessible public awareness message while reinforcing the importance of preparedness and personal safety during large-scale demonstrations.
