Galgotias University Hosts High-Level Japanese Delegation to Strengthen India-Japan Collaboration in Green Hydrogen, Electric Vehicles and Semiconductor Research
Galgotias University hosted a high-level Japanese delegation alongside representatives from the Governments of India and Uttar Pradesh to discuss collaboration in Green Hydrogen, Electric Vehicles, Semiconductors, technology exchange and joint research. The visit aims to strengthen India-Japan academic partnerships, sustainable innovation, advanced manufacturing and global research opportunities for students and faculty.
The discussions examined the possibility of launching joint research programmes, technology exchange initiatives and academic partnerships designed to create new opportunities for students and researchers. The proposed collaborations are expected to contribute to advancements in clean energy, sustainable mobility and next-generation manufacturing. The engagement also reflects the increasing role of universities in connecting global policy leadership with advanced research and emerging talent.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, Chief Executive Officer of Galgotias University, described the visit as a significant milestone for the institution. He said that hosting such a distinguished delegation demonstrates the growing importance of Greater Noida as a major academic, industrial and transportation hub. He added that the University intends to transform these discussions into joint research projects, exchange programmes and industry partnerships in which students and faculty members can actively participate.
The meeting highlighted the longstanding relationship between India and Japan, built upon centuries of civilisational and cultural exchange and strengthened by shared democratic values and complementary capabilities. Japan contributes expertise in precision manufacturing, clean energy technologies and industrial innovation, while India offers a vast pool of young engineering and research talent, large-scale capabilities and one of the world's fastest-growing economies.
As India and Japan continue to deepen their Special Strategic and Global Partnership, academic and research collaborations are emerging as an important pillar alongside trade and investment. The discussions underscored the growing importance of joint research programmes, faculty and student exchange initiatives, co-supervised doctoral research and university-industry partnerships as effective mechanisms for transforming shared objectives into technological innovation. Indian universities are increasingly positioning themselves at the centre of this collaborative ecosystem.
The visit also coincides with expanding cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Japan in clean energy and advanced manufacturing. The state is steadily emerging as a major destination for investment in Green Hydrogen, Electric Vehicle components and semiconductor manufacturing. By engaging directly with government representatives and international stakeholders, Galgotias University aims to align its research capabilities and talent development initiatives with national and global priorities.
The University stated that the visit marks the beginning of a deeper phase of engagement. Follow-up discussions in the coming weeks are expected to convert the initial dialogue into concrete research programmes, academic exchanges and strategic partnerships. Galgotias University reaffirmed its commitment to collaborative research, faculty and student exchange, and industry-driven innovation in sustainable technologies, further strengthening its mission to deliver education and research that benefit society.
