Tesla’s quarterly profit dropped by 57% as the company increased spending on artificial intelligence, robotics, and future technology development. During the update, Musk highlighted progress in Tesla’s unsupervised robotaxi program, stating that the vehicles have completed more than 380,000 miles without incidents.
Musk confirmed that Starlink integration will enable high-speed 4K streaming capabilities inside Tesla vehicles, enhancing in-car connectivity and entertainment experiences. He also indicated that Tesla vehicles could potentially be used to relay signals to nearby devices, expanding the possible applications of Starlink technology beyond vehicle connectivity.
The Tesla chief executive also pointed to increasing collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX on advanced technology projects, including TeraFab chips designed for Optimus humanoid robots. The developments reflect growing links between Musk’s companies as they pursue advancements in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and robotics.
Musk, however, avoided discussions regarding a possible merger between Tesla and SpaceX, despite analyst speculation about potential synergies between the two companies.
