The development came amid the Cockroach Janta Party protest at Jantar Mantar, where demonstrators are demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation from the post of Education Minister. During the protest, Instagram users identified Naimisha Pradhan’s account and flooded comment sections of several posts by tagging her. The online reaction intensified after police action against student protesters on Monday earlier this week, when the CJP was marching towards Parliament to raise its concerns.
Several social media users uploaded videos and posts questioning Naimisha’s decision to pursue education abroad while demanding the resignation of her father from his ministerial position. Users also targeted posts made by her university, posting slogans such as “Dharmendra Pradhan resign” and calling for her suspension from the educational institution. Naimisha reportedly completed her LLM degree in 2023.
While some users tagged the university and alleged that she was “part of the problem”, others argued that criticism should remain focused on Dharmendra Pradhan and not extend to his family members. One user stated that involving a family member, especially someone who is not a decision-maker, crosses a line. The user added that accountability should be demanded from individuals holding public office, saying that those in power should be criticised, their actions questioned, and reforms demanded.
Dharmendra Pradhan Responds to CJP Protest, Accuses Congress of Political Exploitation
Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan issued his first response to the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, targeting the Congress party and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Pradhan said the government was ready to discuss the NEET issue and address concerns raised by students on the floor of Parliament.
In a post on X, Pradhan accused Rahul Gandhi and the Congress of exploiting students as political tools to create disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. He said Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders had staged a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence, causing inconvenience to the public and ignoring established security protocols.
The Union Minister said the government had already communicated its willingness to discuss NEET and other issues in Parliament, but claimed that the Congress had chosen political demonstrations over democratic discussion.
“For Rahul Gandhi, this is not about students. This is about manufacturing confrontation after every genuine avenue for discussion has been opened,” Pradhan said. He added that the government remained fully committed to discussing NEET and addressing student concerns.
Pradhan further stated that students deserved more than being used as part of political campaigns. He said the government was committed to providing answers, reforms, and accountability, adding that the welfare and future of students remained a priority.
The controversy surrounding Naimisha Pradhan’s social media account and the ongoing protests have intensified the political debate over student concerns, examination-related issues, and demands for accountability from the Education Ministry.
