Maharashtra Approves ₹115 Crore for Redevelopment of Three Major Pilgrimage Sites

Maharashtra's Mahayuti government has reportedly approved ₹115 crore for the redevelopment of three major pilgrimage sites linked to Sant Janabai, Sant Gadge Baba, and the Mahanubhav religious tradition. The proposed project focuses on roads, sanitation, conservation, and pilgrim facilities while supporting the state's broader pilgrimage tourism development, although official confirmation is still awaited.

 

The Maharashtra government, led by the Mahayuti alliance, has reportedly approved ₹115 crore for the redevelopment of three significant pilgrimage destinations across the state, reinforcing its focus on preserving religious heritage while strengthening pilgrimage infrastructure. The decision is expected to enhance facilities for devotees through improved connectivity, sanitation, conservation, and visitor amenities, although official confirmation of the approval is still awaited.

According to the available details, ₹48.75 crore has been allocated for the redevelopment of the birthplace of Sant Janabai, ₹25 crore has been earmarked for the memorial site of Sant Gadge Baba, and ₹47.75 crore has been sanctioned for the development of a prominent pilgrimage site associated with the Mahanubhav religious tradition. The proposed works include the construction and improvement of roads, better sanitation systems, upgraded pilgrim facilities, and conservation measures aimed at preserving the historical and spiritual significance of the three locations.
