Volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda reached the affected areas and assisted residents in shifting their household belongings from flooded houses. The volunteers removed essential items from homes and transported the goods using tractor trolleys and other available arrangements.
The situation has raised concerns among villagers, as Makkasar witnessed similar flooding last year during heavy rainfall. Residents expressed anger before the Tehsildar who arrived at the spot and accused the administration of failing to clear compensation-related bills from the previous year. Villagers questioned the lack of permanent solutions despite repeated flooding incidents.
Last year, the administration had arranged temporary rehabilitation facilities for affected residents. However, villagers stated that the recurring problem continues due to the absence of proper water drainage systems in the village. The repeated waterlogging has created difficulties for residents every year during the rainy season.
Meanwhile, rainfall has continued across Hanumangarh district since the night. Several areas, including Pilibanga, Goluwala, and Pakka Saharna, have reported waterlogging. In many locations, rainwater entered houses and offices, affecting daily activities.
Following the heavy rainfall, the District Collector declared a holiday in schools as a precautionary measure. Municipal officials are engaged in efforts to drain accumulated water from affected areas. While the rainfall is expected to benefit agricultural crops, severe waterlogging has created challenges for residents. Intermittent rainfall continues in the district, keeping the situation under close watch.
