During the demonstration, BJP leaders said that the NEET-UG 2024 results were declared on July 16, 2024, and students across the country achieved remarkable success. They stated that children from families of vegetable sellers and labourers also cleared the examination, proving that talent and hard work are not dependent on social or economic background. They described the achievements of such students as an inspiration for millions who continue to pursue success despite limited financial resources.
The BJP leaders alleged that while children from hardworking families are fulfilling their dreams of becoming doctors through dedication and merit, Congress and leaders such as Rahul Gandhi are attempting to turn students’ futures and achievements into political issues by spreading confusion and negativity. They asserted that the hard work and bright future of students will not be allowed to become a tool for political interests.
The protest was attended by BJP Chandigarh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra, former state president and Himachal Pradesh co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi, State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti, Convenor of various fronts and cells Shakti Prakash Devshali, State Vice President Naresh Panchal, State Media In-charge Ravi Rawat, former mayors Ravikant Sharma and Rajesh Kalia, State Youth Wing President Abhay Jha, State Women’s Wing President Sonam Verma, along with state office bearers, district presidents, mandal presidents, representatives of various fronts and cells, party workers, and a large number of citizens.
During the protest, workers raised slogans against Congress and Rahul Gandhi while expressing their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They described Congress politics as contrary to democratic values and principles.
Addressing the gathering, BJP Chandigarh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra said that Congress and Rahul Gandhi were frustrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity and the continuous development work taking place across the country. He alleged that Congress was attempting to mislead people through false claims, confusion, and misleading campaigns, but aware citizens had understood such politics.
Malhotra said that the attempt to surround the Prime Minister’s residence reflected Congress’s frustration, negative approach, and anti-democratic mindset. He stated that the people of the country have repeatedly placed their trust and support in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which cannot be weakened through alleged conspiracies, false narratives, or protests. He added that the BJP was prepared to face every political challenge democratically and that India was reaching new heights of development under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Former state president and Himachal Pradesh co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon said that Congress and Rahul Gandhi had repeatedly attempted to weaken democratic institutions and constitutional values. He stated that such politics against Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not acceptable to the people. Tandon alleged that Rahul Gandhi frequently relied on false accusations, misleading statements, and negative campaigns to influence public opinion, but citizens had recognised the reality behind such politics.
Tandon added that everyone has the right to protest in a democracy, but disorder, unethical activities, and attempts to mislead citizens in the name of protest cannot be accepted.
Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country and Chandigarh were progressing on the path of development. He alleged that Congress had no positive issues to present before the public and was therefore relying on opposition, misinformation, and negative politics. He stated that BJP workers would continue to democratically oppose every such political attempt by Congress.
BJP Chandigarh State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti said that Congress politics had become directionless. He stated that India’s global reputation had strengthened under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and the country was moving rapidly towards self-reliance. He urged Congress and Rahul Gandhi to respect the public mandate and democratic values instead of attempting to mislead people through false campaigns and misleading statements.
Shakti Prakash Devshali, Convenor of various BJP fronts and cells, said that every BJP worker stood firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that party workers would democratically oppose Congress and Rahul Gandhi’s actions at every level and expose what they described as negative, misleading, and anti-public politics before citizens.
The protest witnessed the participation of BJP state leaders, district and mandal representatives, office bearers of various fronts and cells, party workers, and citizens in large numbers. The demonstration highlighted the continuing political confrontation between BJP and Congress over issues involving governance, student concerns, and democratic methods of protest.
