Rahul Gandhi Intensifies Attack on Government Over NEET Paper Leak, Places Three Demands Before Modi Government

Rahul Gandhi escalates his attack on the Modi government over the NEET paper leak issue, demanding removal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, accountability for action against protesting students, and an apology from those responsible for the education system’s failures.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has continued his campaign against the government over the NEET paper leak issue even after staging a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence and being taken into custody. On Wednesday, Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the Narendra Modi government and placed three demands, calling for accountability over the alleged failures in the examination system.

Questioning the government’s response to peaceful protests, Rahul Gandhi asked why students were facing such a situation and what wrong they had done. He said security forces were standing against students with weapons while they were only peacefully raising their demands and seeking their rights as citizens. Gandhi stated that students were demanding an education system that is fair and transparent.

Gandhi said that several students had even lost their lives due to the pressure and stress surrounding examinations. He highlighted that families invest enormous resources in competitive examinations and later face disappointment when they are informed about paper leaks or irregularities.

According to Rahul Gandhi, the expenditure made by families preparing for the NEET examination is nearly equal to the government’s entire education budget. He stated that after collecting taxes, the Government of India spends around Rs 1.4 lakh crore on education, while families of NEET aspirants collectively spend approximately Rs 1.32 lakh crore every year. Gandhi described this situation as a serious injustice against families who invest their money and trust in the education system.

Gandhi said the first and completely justified demand is the removal of Dharmendra Pradhan, who he alleged has failed as Education Minister and faces accusations of corruption. He said there was nothing wrong with this demand and claimed that repeated examination paper leaks have demonstrated the inability to manage the system effectively.

The second demand raised by Rahul Gandhi was that all those responsible for using force against students should be held accountable, including both those who issued orders and those who carried them out.

The third demand was that the person responsible for running the entire system and ultimately accountable for these failures should show responsibility and apologise to students for what has happened.

Further attacking the government, Gandhi said Dharmendra Pradhan had damaged India’s biggest asset, adding that the education system had been severely affected. He expressed full support for the demands of students and those who have taken to the streets against the issue.

Rahul Gandhi further alleged that India’s education system, once considered among the world’s best, has now become a system affected by malpractice. He claimed that 152 examination paper leaks have occurred during the last decade and said that, on average, nearly one paper leak has taken place every month. He added that millions of students are repeatedly forced to experience the same stress and uncertainty after investing their time and efforts in examinations.

The NEET paper leak controversy has emerged as a major political issue, with opposition leaders demanding accountability and reforms in the examination system. Rahul Gandhi’s three demands have intensified the ongoing confrontation between the opposition and the government over student concerns and examination integrity.
