Hyderabad Woman Found Dead in Hotel Room After Alleged Suicide During Video Call; Police Launch Comprehensive Investigation
A 26-year-old woman from Alwal was found dead in a Hyderabad hotel room after allegedly dying by suicide during a video call with her friend. Police have registered a case, seized evidence, collected hotel surveillance footage, examined her mobile phone, and questioned the man who accompanied her while awaiting post-mortem and forensic reports.
The deceased has been identified as Renuka, a resident of Alwal. According to the police, she was married, had a child, and was employed at a restaurant and pub in the city.
Investigators said Renuka checked into a hotel in Hyderabad's Langar Houz area with a man at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the investigation, the man remained with her until around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday before leaving the hotel, while Renuka stayed alone in the room.
Police said hotel records show that Renuka ordered dinner at approximately 11:56 p.m. on Thursday. Later, she initiated a video call with her friend, identified as Satya. According to the preliminary investigation, Renuka allegedly died by suicide during the video call at around 12:24 a.m. on Friday.
Confirming the sequence of events, Langar Houz Sub-Inspector Syed Munwar Ali said that the woman had checked into the hotel with a man on Wednesday morning and allegedly died by suicide while speaking to her friend through a video call shortly after midnight.
Hotel staff alerted the police after discovering the incident. A police team immediately reached the hotel, conducted a preliminary inspection of the room, and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case and launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Investigators are collecting closed-circuit television footage from the hotel, examining the woman's mobile phone, and questioning the man who had accompanied her in an effort to establish the sequence of events and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Sub-Inspector Syed Munwar Ali stated that the investigation is covering every possible aspect of the case and emphasized that the exact reason behind the woman's death can only be determined after the investigation is completed.
Authorities are currently awaiting the post-mortem report and forensic examination results before arriving at any final conclusions. The case remains under active investigation as police continue gathering evidence to establish the complete circumstances surrounding the tragic death.
