Viral Party Video Contradicts Family Claims in Pune Fiancé Murder Case as Police Deepen Investigation
A viral video of Siya Goyal, accused in the murder of fiancé Ketan Agarwal, has intensified scrutiny amid conflicting family claims. Police continue reconstruction at Lohagad Fort, examining phone data, relationship angles, and alleged conspiracy involving co-accused Chetan Choudhary in the high-profile Pune murder investigation.
Although the video does not depict any illegal activity or directly relate to the crime under investigation, it has raised questions as it appears to contradict earlier statements made by Siya Goyal’s family. Her mother, Pooja Goyal, had previously claimed that her daughter did not attend parties, consume alcohol, or smoke. In a recent interview, she also stated that the family knew co-accused Chetan Choudhary only as a friend. She further asserted that Ketan Agarwal was aware of Siya’s friendship with Chetan.
Responding to photographs showing Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary together, Pooja Goyal stated that the individuals were present only at a friend’s wedding and not in a romantic relationship.
As the investigation progresses, the Pune Police have revealed that Ketan Agarwal’s mobile phone remained in Siya Goyal’s possession for a period before being handed over to his family. The prosecution informed the court while seeking an extension of custody for the accused that investigators are examining whether any data was deleted or tampered with during that time.
On Wednesday, police also took Chetan Choudhary to Lohagad Fort near Pune to reconstruct the alleged sequence of events. A dummy matching the deceased’s weight was used to recreate the incident. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Shubham Kumar of Pune Rural, the reconstruction was conducted to verify the sequence described by the accused and to support forensic gait analysis, which studies human movement patterns and is often used in cases involving video or CCTV evidence.

Authorities confirmed that a similar reconstruction exercise had earlier been carried out with Siya Goyal at the same location. Police stated that both accused individuals were taken separately to the site as part of ongoing verification of evidence and events.
According to investigators and the victim’s family, Ketan Agarwal and Siya Goyal were engaged in February, with a wedding planned for November. Police allege that Siya Goyal was in a relationship with Chetan Choudhary, whom she met through her brother, and did not wish to marry Ketan Agarwal. Investigators further claim that Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary conspired to kill Ketan Agarwal and staged the incident to appear as an accident during a visit to Lohagad Fort under the pretext of celebrating her birthday.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to verify digital, forensic, and reconstructive evidence to establish the precise sequence of events leading to the death.
