India and Malaysia reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral military cooperation during the 12th Sub-Committee Meeting in New Delhi. The discussions focused on military exchanges, joint exercises, maritime cooperation, capacity building and emerging domains while reaffirming a shared commitment to peace, security and freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific.

India and Malaysia conducted a comprehensive review of their bilateral military cooperation during the 12th Sub-Committee Meeting held in New Delhi, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, regional security and freedom of navigation across the Indo-Pacific. The high-level military dialogue reflected the growing strategic partnership between the two countries and focused on strengthening defence engagement across multiple areas.

According to the Defence Ministry, the discussions covered the entire spectrum of ongoing defence cooperation, including military-to-military exchanges, bilateral military exercises, training programmes, staff-level talks, capacity building initiatives, maritime cooperation and collaboration in emerging domains. Both sides assessed the progress of existing engagements and explored ways to further deepen defence ties.

The Sub-Committee Meeting serves as the principal military-to-military consultative mechanism between India and Malaysia. It also precedes the India-Malaysia Defence Cooperation Meeting, which is conducted at the level of the Defence Secretary. During the meeting, both delegations reviewed the progress achieved since the previous Sub-Committee Meeting and expressed confidence that the outcomes of the latest discussions would provide a strong foundation for productive deliberations during the forthcoming India-Malaysia Defence Cooperation Meeting.

As part of the official visit, the Malaysian delegation called on Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and visited the Defence Public Sector Undertakings Bhawan at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi. Before the commencement of the meeting, the head of the Malaysian delegation paid tribute to India's fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
