Railway Extends Operation of Five Special Train Pairs from Bihar to Ease Passenger Rush
The Indian Railways has extended the operation of five pairs of special trains originating from Bihar, providing significant relief to passengers during the busy travel season. The decision improves connectivity to Kolkata, Mumbai, Odisha, and southern India while helping reduce overcrowding and offering more convenient travel options across major routes.
The Patna–Charlapalli–Patna Special Train, operating under train numbers 03253, 03254, and 03255, will now continue services until July 29. The train will operate every Monday and Wednesday via Gaya, Koderma, Gomoh, Ranchi, Bilaspur, Raipur, and Nagpur, making travel to southern India more convenient. Passengers will be able to use this service throughout July.
The Patna–Howrah–Patna Special Train, operating under train numbers 02024 and 02023, has had its services extended until September 27. The train will continue operating every Sunday through Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama, and Jhajha, offering an important travel option between Bihar and West Bengal.
The Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak–Raxaul Special Train, operating under train numbers 05557 and 05558, will also continue operating throughout July. The train will run every Tuesday and Thursday via Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Howrah, Patliputra, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, providing improved connectivity between Bihar and Mumbai.
The Sogaria–Dhanbad–Sogaria Special Train, operating under train numbers 09821 and 09822, will now remain in service until November. The train will operate every Thursday and Saturday through Sagar, Damoh, Katni, Prayagraj Chheoki, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya, and Koderma, benefiting passengers travelling across multiple states.
The Patna–Khurda Road Junction–Patna Special Train, operating under train numbers 03230 and 03229, will continue operating throughout July. The train will run every Wednesday and Thursday via Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama, Jhajha, Asansol, Kharagpur, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar, strengthening connectivity between Bihar and Odisha.
The extension of these five special train pairs is expected to significantly improve travel convenience during the busy season by reducing passenger congestion and ensuring better rail connectivity between Bihar and several major destinations across eastern, western, and southern India.
