Aster DM Quality Care Begins Operations Following Landmark Merger, Creating One of India's Largest Integrated Healthcare Networks

Aster DM Quality Care has commenced operations following the successful merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited, creating one of India's largest integrated healthcare networks. With 39 hospitals, over 10,600 beds, and plans to expand advanced medical technologies and specialist services, the organization aims to strengthen healthcare access across metropolitan and emerging cities.

Aster DM Quality Care Limited officially commenced operations after the successful completion of the merger between Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited (QCIL), establishing one of India's largest integrated healthcare providers. The merger brings together four trusted healthcare brands—Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMSHEALTH—creating a stronger healthcare platform dedicated to expanding access to world-class medical services, specialist expertise, advanced treatment, and cutting-edge healthcare technology across India.

Under the newly merged organization, Dr. Azad Moopen will continue as Executive Chairman, while Varun Khanna will serve as Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer. The combined entity aims to strengthen healthcare delivery by integrating clinical excellence, medical expertise, and patient-focused care while expanding access to advanced healthcare services across South and Central India.

With a significant presence across underpenetrated and rapidly growing healthcare centres beyond metropolitan cities, Aster DM Quality Care plans to decentralize affordable and advanced healthcare by expanding specialist medical services, investing in next-generation technologies, and strengthening centres of excellence closer to patients' homes.

Commenting on the commencement of operations, Dr. Azad Moopen, Executive Chairman of Aster DM Quality Care, said that the merger marks a defining milestone in building one of India's most trusted and future-ready healthcare institutions. He stated that the integration represents more than the combination of two healthcare organizations, describing it as the convergence of shared values, clinical excellence, deep medical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to patient care. He added that the combined institution would be stronger, more resilient, and better positioned to address India's evolving healthcare needs.

Highlighting the immediate priorities of the merged organization, Varun Khanna, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Aster DM Quality Care, said the new platform combines highly complementary institutions, robust clinical ecosystems, and teams united by a shared objective of strengthening healthcare delivery across the country. He emphasized that patients and their families would remain at the centre of every decision through digitally enabled healthcare solutions and a strong focus on delivering high-quality clinical outcomes. He further stated that the immediate priority is a disciplined and seamless integration process while ensuring uninterrupted patient care and maintaining stability and consistency for patients, clinicians, employees, and partners during the integration of systems, capabilities, and best practices.

The merged healthcare platform is expected to generate significant synergies across clinical collaboration, technology adoption, procurement, digital healthcare, and operational excellence. Aster DM Quality Care will operate a network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities with more than 10,600 beds, positioning the organization to expand specialist healthcare, advanced treatment, and cutting-edge medical technology across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, including Nagpur, Aurangabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Nagercoil, Kolhapur, Kannur, Kasaragod, and Kottakkal. The expansion is expected to reduce the need for patients to travel to metropolitan centres for complex medical treatment.

The merged entity stated that this vision reflects the long-standing commitment of both organizations to extend advanced healthcare services to emerging cities. The network has already introduced the first Linear Accelerator-based radiation therapy system in Nagercoil and expanded robotic surgery programmes across Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolhapur, with similar programmes planned for Guntur and Vijayawada. These investments are designed to bring advanced clinical care closer to patients while strengthening the attraction and retention of highly qualified medical professionals in non-metropolitan regions.

Building on this foundation, Aster DM Quality Care will accelerate investments in advanced technologies, including Gamma Knife systems, stereotactic radiosurgery systems such as ZAP, ten robotic surgical platforms, and other next-generation clinical capabilities. The organization also plans to improve access to advanced cancer treatment by adding twelve Linear Accelerator-based radiation therapy systems across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

The combined organization's bed capacity is projected to exceed 15,000 over the coming years, significantly expanding access to affordable healthcare across India. Supported by more than 45,000 healthcare professionals, the integrated network will create one of the country's largest clinical ecosystems, enabling greater collaboration among doctors, nurses, caregivers, and allied healthcare professionals while strengthening access to quality medical services nationwide.

As the healthcare network continues to expand, the organization expects to create thousands of additional employment opportunities for doctors, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and support staff, contributing to the growth of India's healthcare ecosystem and strengthening medical services in the communities it serves.

Aster DM Quality Care Limited has been formed through the merger of Aster DM Healthcare Limited and Quality Care India Limited. The integrated healthcare provider combines the four leading healthcare brands—Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMSHEALTH—into a diversified healthcare platform spanning primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care. The network is supported by centres of excellence across key specialties, including oncology, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, gastro sciences, orthopaedics, nephrology, organ transplantation, mother and child care, and critical care.

The organization noted that the proposed name change to Aster DM Quality Care Limited remains subject to the receipt of the Certificate of Incorporation pursuant to the merger, and the company is presently named Aster DM Healthcare Limited. The commencement of operations marks a significant milestone in India's healthcare sector by creating a large-scale integrated medical network focused on expanding advanced healthcare access, strengthening clinical excellence, and improving patient care across both metropolitan and emerging cities.
