Indore Student Assaulted, Forced to Apologise on Camera After Dispute Near Cafe
A Class 10 student and his friend were allegedly assaulted by four youths in Indore's Kanadiya area after an earlier dispute. The victim was reportedly forced to apologise on camera with folded hands and threatened with the video's release on social media. Police have registered an FIR and begun an investigation into the case.
According to Kanadiya Police Station officials, the complaint was filed by Class 10 student Abdul Rajik against Shahnawaz, Ashif, Aris, and another unidentified associate. The student told police that a day before the assault, he was riding his motorcycle near Nahar Shah Dargah when he encountered Shahnawaz, who allegedly questioned him over why he was staring at him.
The complaint states that on Friday, Shahnawaz telephoned Rajik and asked him to come to Dangi Cafe in Sanchar Nagar. At around 10 p.m., Rajik arrived at the location along with his friend Ali. According to the complaint, Shahnawaz reached the cafe with his associates and revived the earlier dispute before all four allegedly began assaulting both youths.
Rajik alleged that when his friend Ali attempted to intervene, the accused also assaulted him. During the attack, the accused allegedly recorded a video on a mobile phone in which the student was forced to apologise with folded hands. They also allegedly threatened that if he looked at them again, the video would be uploaded and circulated on social media.
Following the incident, the student, accompanied by his family, approached Kanadiya Police Station and lodged a complaint. Police have registered a case against the accused and initiated an investigation into the matter.
