Kriti Sanon Family Sells Four Mumbai Apartments for Rs 8.9 Crore, Earns Over 100% Return on Investment
Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon, along with sister Nupur Sanon and mother Geeta Sanon, has sold four apartments in Mumbai’s Andheri West for Rs 8.9 crore. The family earned nearly Rs 4.60 crore in appreciation, achieving an estimated 107 per cent return on investment over a period of nine to 13 years through property holdings in Raheja Classique.
The apartments are located in Raheja Classique, a prominent residential development in Andheri West, one of Mumbai’s most sought-after real estate destinations. The area is known for its excellent connectivity through the Western Express Highway, Link Road, the suburban railway network, and the Mumbai Metro. It also offers convenient access to major commercial centres, including SEEPZ, MIDC, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), and Film City.
Property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards through records available on the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registration (IGR) portal reveal that two identical apartments in Raheja Classique were sold for Rs 3.23 crore each.
Each of these apartments has a built-up area of 60.78 square metres (654.23 square feet) and a carpet area of 50.63 square metres (545 square feet). Both units include one dedicated car parking space. Stamp duty of Rs 19.41 lakh and registration charges of Rs 30,000 were paid for each transaction.
The Sanon family also sold two additional apartments in the same residential project for Rs 1.21 crore each.
These smaller units have a built-up area of 22.86 square metres (246.06 square feet) and a carpet area of 19.05 square metres (205 square feet). Each transaction attracted stamp duty of Rs 7.29 lakh and registration charges of Rs 30,000.
Property records further show that Geeta Sanon purchased two of the apartments in July 2013 for a combined Rs 1.40 crore. Kriti Sanon and Nupur Sanon acquired the remaining two units in June 2017 for a combined Rs 2.90 crore.
The family’s total acquisition cost for all four properties stood at approximately Rs 4.31 crore. With the apartments now sold for a combined Rs 8.9 crore, the investment generated an appreciation of nearly Rs 4.60 crore. This represents a gain of around 107 per cent over a holding period ranging from nine to 13 years.
Kriti Sanon is among the leading actresses in the Hindi film industry and has appeared in several commercially successful films since her debut in 2014. In addition to her acting career, she has expanded into entrepreneurship. Nupur Sanon is an actress and singer known for her work across music videos, films, and digital entertainment projects.
The buyer in all four transactions is Mukesh Chhabra, one of the Indian film industry's most prominent casting directors. Chhabra is widely recognised for identifying and nurturing acting talent and later entered filmmaking with his directorial debut, “Dil Bechara,” released in 2020.
The transactions highlight the significant appreciation in Mumbai’s premium residential real estate market, with the Sanon family more than doubling its investment through strategic property holdings in one of the city’s most valuable residential locations.
