A woman in Unnao publicly assaulted her husband after accusing him of secretly recording and uploading her private videos on social media. The dramatic confrontation near Nirala Park was captured on video, drawing a crowd and prompting police intervention. Authorities have launched an investigation based on the viral footage.

Unnao: A dramatic confrontation unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district after a woman allegedly assaulted her husband at a busy intersection, accusing him of secretly recording her private videos and uploading them on social media. The incident, which was captured on video and surfaced online on Saturday, has triggered widespread discussion and prompted a police investigation.

According to the footage, the woman, identified as Gulshan, repeatedly slapped her husband, Seraj, before striking him with a slipper and kicking him in public. During the assault, her sister and another woman allegedly held Seraj by the arms, preventing him from leaving the scene. The women repeatedly urged that he be beaten and then handed over to the police.

The incident took place near Nirala Park in the city area. Gulshan, a resident of Jogikot under Behta Mujawar Police Station, is currently living in Sheikhnagar. Her sister stated that Gulshan had been in a relationship with Seraj, who is also from Jogikot.

According to the family, Seraj allegedly pressured Gulshan into entering a court marriage in May 2025. Following the marriage, disputes reportedly began between the couple. Gulshan later refused to continue living with him and moved to the city. After the separation, Seraj reportedly left for Punjab for work.

Gulshan has accused Seraj of secretly recording videos of her on his mobile phone and later uploading them on social media with the intention of defaming her. She alleged that several such videos were posted online, making it difficult for her to move freely in public. She further claimed that whenever she went anywhere or spoke to anyone, Seraj would secretly record her and later publish the footage online.

The viral video, which runs for two minutes and forty-one seconds, shows Gulshan, dressed in a burqa, holding Seraj and repeatedly slapping him. She is later seen removing her slipper and striking him across the face. Throughout the incident, her sister allegedly held Seraj's arm to prevent him from escaping, while the third woman contacted the police and requested immediate intervention.

In the video, Gulshan can be heard accusing her husband of posting her private videos on social media. Following the verbal confrontation, she continues to slap and kick him in full public view. A large crowd gathered at the intersection during the incident, but no bystander intervened.

Police personnel arrived at the scene during the altercation and took Seraj into custody before escorting him to Kotwali Sadar Police Station. The three women were also called to the police station for questioning. Police later processed legal action against Seraj.

According to police officials, Gulshan has not yet submitted any written complaint at Kotwali Sadar Police Station regarding her allegations. Authorities stated that the entire matter is being investigated on the basis of the viral video and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The case has drawn significant attention because it involves allegations of unauthorized recording, the online circulation of private content, and a highly public confrontation that unfolded before a crowd. With no formal complaint yet filed by the woman, investigators are examining the available evidence to determine the full sequence of events and any potential legal violations committed by those involved.
