Kanpur Student Writes Emotional Letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Urges Priority to National Security Amid Global Turmoil
A Kanpur student, Ashutosh Yadav, writes an emotional letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid global instability and the Iran–Israel conflict, expressing strong faith in his leadership and urging top priority for his security. The letter reflects concerns over economic pressures, energy supply disruptions, and national resilience.
In his letter, Yadav highlighted that ongoing geopolitical tensions have significantly impacted global energy supplies, trade flows, and international supply chains. He stated that at such a critical juncture, the Prime Minister’s emphasis on self-reliance, restraint, and national interest serves as a guiding inspiration for millions across the country.
The student further wrote that his entire family stands prepared to endure any hardship necessary in the interest of the nation and has resolved to reduce dependence on non-essential imported goods in order to ease pressure on India’s foreign exchange reserves.
Referring to reports suggesting that the Prime Minister intended to reduce expenditure on his personal security arrangements, Yadav expressed deep concern. While acknowledging the Prime Minister’s simplicity and spirit of sacrifice, he stressed that his security must remain the highest priority.
“You are not just a public representative, but a symbol of hope, faith, and inspiration for millions of Indians. You are the invaluable heritage of this nation,” Yadav wrote in his letter.
In another emotional appeal, he stated, “If required, we will endure hardships and even remain hungry, but we will not allow any harm to India’s self-respect, identity, and sovereignty.”
Yadav urged the Prime Minister to prioritize security arrangements, stating that the nation requires his leadership more than ever in the present global scenario. He also recalled the Prime Minister’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, describing it as a period that provided hope and stability to millions and continues to inspire confidence in India’s future trajectory.
The letter also carried personal blessings and goodwill messages conveyed through Yadav’s family, including his grandmother, Indrani Devi, and his parents, Shyam Singh and Sudha Yadav. He noted that the Prime Minister has remained a consistent source of inspiration for his family.
The correspondence reflects a broader emotional sentiment of trust, national commitment, and personal admiration from an ordinary family toward the Prime Minister’s leadership during a period marked by global uncertainty and economic strain.
