According to the complaint lodged by Bandi Bageerath in Karimnagar, he accused the girl and her parents of orchestrating a honey trap. He alleged that he was pressured into paying Rs 50,000 initially, followed by demands of Rs 5 crore. He further claimed that he was threatened with false criminal cases or forced suicide if the additional demand was not met.
In a swift counter-development, police in Hyderabad registered a case against Bandi Bageerath under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The complaint alleges that he harassed the minor under the pretext of false promises of marriage, compelled her to consume alcohol, and physically assaulted her at multiple locations, including a farmhouse in Moinabad on December 31, 2025. It has also been reported that the girl attempted suicide twice following the alleged incidents.
Despite the seriousness of the allegations on both sides, no arrests have been made so far. Investigations are currently underway as authorities examine the conflicting claims and evidence presented in both cases.
The matter has escalated into a politically sensitive issue in Karimnagar, with opposition parties reviving a 2023 video allegedly linked to a separate assault incident. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has dismissed the allegations as a politically motivated hit job aimed at tarnishing the image of the Union Minister’s family.
The unfolding case continues to draw intense public and political scrutiny, highlighting deepening tensions as law enforcement agencies navigate competing narratives in a highly charged environment.
