Massive Fire Engulfs 10–12 Flats in Ghaziabad High-Rise, No Casualties Reported
A massive fire broke out in a high-rise residential complex in Indirapuram’s Abhay Khand, Ghaziabad, engulfing 10 to 12 flats across six floors. The blaze, suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit, spread rapidly and was visible from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, prompting immediate local response.
According to reports, residents in adjoining structures attempted to contain the blaze in its early stages by using water hoses from adjacent balconies as the flames intensified. The fire quickly spread across multiple floors, creating panic in the residential area.
Journalists Ajit Anjum and Vinod Kapri highlighted an initial delay of approximately 35 minutes in the arrival of fire services, raising concerns among residents who feared possible explosions amid weak water pressure in firefighting efforts. The situation escalated as emergency response teams worked to gain control over the rapidly spreading fire.
A total of eleven fire tenders were deployed to the site, which eventually succeeded in bringing the blaze under control by 4:35 a.m. Despite the extensive damage to residential units across six floors, authorities confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.
The concerned authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess safety compliance measures within the high-rise complex.
The incident has drawn attention to emergency response preparedness and fire safety standards in densely populated residential buildings, underscoring the urgent need for stricter enforcement and quicker response mechanisms to prevent similar large-scale urban fire events.
