Electronics Sector Welcomes India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, Calls It Balanced and Growth-Oriented
India’s electronics sector has welcomed the Free Trade Agreement between India and New Zealand, calling it a continuation of government-led trade reforms. Industry body chief Pankaj Mohindroo praised the calibrated negotiation strategy and termed the pact balanced, safeguarding domestic interests while opening new international market opportunities for electronics industry growth.
In a video message, Chairman of the India Cellular and Electronics Association, Pankaj Mohindroo, stated that the agreement reflects the government’s consistent and structured approach to international trade negotiations. He appreciated the calibrated strategy adopted by the Indian side during the negotiation process, highlighting its focus on long-term economic stability and sectoral growth.
Mohindroo further welcomed the Free Trade Agreement, stating that it is effectively balanced. He noted that the pact safeguards domestic industry interests while simultaneously creating new opportunities in international markets for the electronics sector.
The industry response underscores confidence that the agreement will strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem while expanding its global trade footprint through enhanced market access and structured economic cooperation with New Zealand.
