High-Speed Tragedy on National Highway 44: Three Killed in Devastating Car Crash Near Kurukshetra
A tragic road accident on National Highway 44 near Kurukshetra resulted in three deaths after a car traveling from Delhi to Chandigarh lost control and crashed into a divider near Khanpur Koliyan village. The victims included an elderly couple and another individual, while one person sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.
The tragic accident occurred near Khanpur Koliyan village, situated between Pipli and Shahabad. According to initial information, a car traveling from Delhi to Chandigarh became uncontrollable and violently struck the highway divider. The impact was so severe that three occupants died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Brijbhushan, aged 83, his wife Kanta, aged 80, and another individual named Bharat. All three were residents of Nangloi in Delhi. The victims were reportedly traveling to meet relatives in Chandigarh when the fatal accident occurred.
There were four occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Brijbhushan’s son, Tarun, aged 53, also sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Preliminary details indicate that Bharat was driving the vehicle when it suddenly lost balance near Khanpur Koliyan village, leading to the collision with the divider on National Highway 44.
Upon receiving information, a team from Sadar Police Station reached the accident site promptly and initiated rescue operations. After significant effort, the police recovered the bodies trapped inside the severely damaged vehicle.
The incident underscores the persistent dangers of high-speed travel on national highways and adds to growing concerns over road safety, particularly on heavily trafficked routes like NH44.
