Ecuador Foreign Affairs Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld to Begin Three-Day Official Visit to India
Ecuador’s Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld begins a three-day official visit to India tomorrow. She will meet External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar, pay tribute at Rajghat, and hold discussions with JP Nadda, Piyush Goyal, and Pabitra Margherita to strengthen bilateral cooperation and diplomatic ties.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Gabriela Sommerfeld will hold high-level talks with External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar on the first day of her visit. The meeting is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding diplomatic ties between India and Ecuador.
Following the discussions, the Ecuadorian Foreign Affairs Minister will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by laying a wreath at Gandhi Samadhi at Rajghat in New Delhi, underscoring the symbolic importance of peace and international friendship associated with the memorial.
During her stay, Gabriela Sommerfeld is also scheduled to engage in a series of ministerial meetings with key members of the Indian government. She will meet Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita. These meetings are expected to cover a wide range of issues, including health cooperation, trade and investment opportunities, and broader foreign policy coordination.
The visit is being viewed as an important step in deepening India–Ecuador relations, with both sides expected to explore new avenues of cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and multilateral platforms.
The three-day engagement highlights growing momentum in bilateral dialogue and reflects the shared intent of both countries to strengthen their partnership on global and regional issues.
