Speaking at the inauguration at Koba Tirth, the Prime Minister underscored that the museum’s seven galleries collectively showcase the country’s rich cultural diversity and heritage. He noted that the first gallery introduces visitors to the Navpad (Nine Jewels), a concept central to Jain philosophy, including Arihant, Siddha, Acharya, Upadhyay, and Sadhu Sangh. These are intrinsically linked to the foundational principles of right faith, right knowledge, right conduct, and right austerity.
“These teachings inspire people to live disciplined and righteous lives. When knowledge is right, it becomes the foundation for equality and service,” Modi said, emphasising the enduring relevance of these values in contemporary society.
Extending greetings on Mahavir Jayanti, the Prime Minister expressed
that he felt fortunate to visit the sacred site and paid homage to Lord Mahavira. He highlighted that India has long upheld a tradition where knowledge flows freely, enriched over centuries by sages and Tirthankaras who contributed to expanding intellectual and spiritual thought.
Reflecting on historical governance models, Modi contrasted rulers who relied on violence with the legacy of Samrat Samprati, who promoted the principles of non-violence, truth, non-stealing, and non-possession, reinforcing a value-driven approach to leadership and society.
The inauguration of the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth stands as a significant cultural milestone, reinforcing India’s civilisational ethos while preserving and presenting its philosophical and spiritual traditions for future generations.
