Amway India Expands Retail Footprint, Opens New Gurugram Experience Centre
Amway India has inaugurated a new Gurugram store as CEO Michael Nelson advances the company's expansion strategy. With more than 85 stores nationwide, the company plans further retail expansion over the next three to four years.
The expansion builds on the INR 100 crore investment announced by Nelson last year towards multiple initiatives, including strengthening the company's physical presence. Amway India aims to bring its product portfolio and brand experiences closer to consumers while providing its distributors with dedicated platforms to engage with customers and build local communities.
During his official visit to Gurugram, Nelson inaugurated the company's new store, marking the next phase of its expansion across key Indian markets.
Speaking on the occasion, Michael Nelson, President and CEO of Amway, said India was at the heart of the company's global growth journey, with the evolving preferences of Indian consumers creating new opportunities.
He said consumers were increasingly seeking trusted, science-backed health and wellbeing solutions, personalised experiences and greater convenience in their interactions with brands.
“Our vision has been to create modern, experiential spaces that help our distributors better serve those evolving needs. These centers bring together product discovery, meaningful conversations, and community, enabling distributors to build deeper customer relationships and deliver greater value,” Nelson said.
He added that the inauguration of the Gurugram Experience Center marked an important milestone in Amway's growth journey in India, reflecting its long-term confidence in the market and commitment to providing distributors with the platforms, tools and experiences needed to build and grow their businesses.
As demand for health and wellbeing solutions continues to rise, Nelson said the company remains committed to supporting entrepreneurship, enhancing the consumer experience and helping more people live better lives.
Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director of Amway India, said the company's physical presence was an important part of its efforts to enhance the consumer and distributor experience in the country.
“These are not conventional stores; they are engagement hubs designed to give consumers a more direct way to experience Amway while giving our distributors a stronger platform to engage with their customers and build communities,” Chopra said.
He said the company had strengthened its physical presence over the past year through a combination of new stores and the upgrading of existing stores into engagement hubs.
Amway India plans to further expand its footprint across the country in the coming years. Chopra said the initiative was also part of the company's long-term commitment to India and its contribution to the vision of Viksit Bharat, supporting healthier communities, enabling economic empowerment and providing greater access to world-class products.
The company currently operates a nationwide network of more than 85 stores. As part of its retail transformation journey, Amway India has opened and revamped more than 14 stores across key markets in recent months.
These locations include Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Imphal, Bhagalpur, Anand, Ahmedabad, Bongaigaon, Agra and Nanded, among others.
The expansion reflects the company's approach of strengthening its presence across metropolitan cities as well as tier-2 and tier-3 markets. Amway has outlined a roadmap to open or revamp several more stores over the next three to four years.
As Amway India approaches three decades of operations in the country, its expansion efforts are underpinned by its commitment to strengthening the direct selling ecosystem.
The company said it operates in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements and continues to strengthen governance, compliance and business practices across its operations.
Its physical engagement centres are an important part of this approach, providing an environment for product discovery, consumer education and engagement between consumers and distributors.
With nearly 30 years of experience in India, Amway said it remains focused on building the next 30 years and beyond through greater consumer trust, responsible entrepreneurship, innovation and long-term value creation.
