The Mumbai-Pune Expressway connecting link will see major traffic restrictions from November 1, with goods vehicles and hazardous material carriers barred. Find out which vehicles can use the route and the new speed limits.

Mumbai-Pune Expressway Connecting Link: The Maharashtra Highway Police has issued new traffic regulations for the Mumbai-Pune Expressway connecting link, prohibiting the movement of all goods vehicles from November 1. The restriction will remain in force until further orders.

Under the revised rules, the maximum speed limit for private cars and other light motor vehicles on the connecting link has been set at 100 kmph, while passenger buses will be allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 80 kmph.

The new traffic directives also prohibit vehicles carrying flammable, explosive and other hazardous substances from entering the connecting link. Such vehicles will have to use the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway route instead.

The restrictions on goods vehicles and the revised speed limits are aimed at regulating traffic and ensuring safe movement along the connecting link. Vehicle operators have been advised to familiarise themselves with the new instructions before starting their journey and use the designated alternative route wherever required.
