Mumbai Police Invoke MCOCA Against All Accused in Tiger Shroff Firing Case
Mumbai Police have invoked MCOCA against all accused in the Tiger Shroff firing case. Investigators allege Lawrence Bishnoi gang links, an extortion motive and an interstate conspiracy spanning Delhi and Mumbai.
According to police, the case has been linked to an organised crime syndicate, with the alleged motive involving extortion, establishing gang dominance and spreading fear among the public.
The development marks an escalation in the legal action against the accused, as investigators continue to examine the alleged conspiracy and the network behind the firing incident.
MCOCA Sections Added Against All Accused
According to an official statement, the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, has been applied in DCB CID CR No. 143/26, registered on 19/10/26 under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.
As per the IANS report, permission from the competent authority under Section 23(1)(a) of MCOCA was granted on 27/10/26.
Following the approval, Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2) and 3(4) of MCOCA have been added against all the accused arrested in the case.
Investigation Progresses After MCOCA Approval
The Mumbai Police initially registered the case on October 19 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
Approval to invoke MCOCA followed on October 27, with police indicating that the investigation had been expedited in view of the organised crime background allegedly linked to the incident.
Further investigation is still underway.
Extortion and Gang Dominance Allegedly Behind the Attack
Earlier, the Mumbai Crime Branch had stated that the alleged motive behind the firing was to extort money, establish the gang's dominance and create fear among the public.
Investigators have alleged that the accused have links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. According to police claims, the gang targeted Tiger Shroff as part of an effort to strengthen its influence, intimidate people and generate money through extortion.
The accused were allegedly working as active members of an organised crime syndicate.
Investigators believe the firing was not an isolated act but part of a planned criminal conspiracy intended to secure financial gains, assert the gang's dominance and spread terror in society.
The accused allegedly used illegal and lethal weapons as part of the pre-planned plot against the actor.
Alleged Interstate Network Under Investigation
The investigation has also revealed that the alleged conspiracy was coordinated through an interstate network spread across several locations, including Delhi and Mumbai.
Police are continuing to investigate the alleged links between the accused, the organised crime syndicate and the network involved in planning the attack.
With MCOCA now invoked against all the accused, the case has moved beyond the initial charges under the BNS and the Arms Act, as investigators pursue the alleged organised crime conspiracy behind the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff.
