Jaipur has received a new rail connectivity option linking Rajasthan with Jharkhand and West Bengal, as Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the Jaipur (Khatipura)-Tatanagar-Santragachi Express. The minister joined the inauguration programme through video conferencing from West Bengal.

The introduction of the new train is expected to strengthen rail connectivity between Rajasthan and other states, including Jharkhand and West Bengal. The service will pass through five states—Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal—and cover around 29 major stations along its route.

The train will cover approximately 1,677 kilometres, connecting Jaipur's Khatipura station with Santragachi in West Bengal. Major stations on the route include Tatanagar, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Daltonganj, Garhwa Road and Prayagraj. The service is expected to provide another travel option for passengers travelling between Jaipur and several destinations in eastern India, particularly those undertaking long-distance journeys across these states.

According to the schedule provided, train number 18061 will operate from Santragachi to Khatipura. The train is scheduled to depart from Santragachi every Wednesday at 2:15 pm and arrive at Jaipur's Khatipura station at 11 pm on Thursday. This will provide passengers travelling from Santragachi to Jaipur with an arrival option late on Thursday night.
