VinFast VF 6 Targets Connected Families With Smart Tech and EV Ownership Savings
VinFast VF 6 combines connected car technology, up to 14 ADAS features and electric driving range with charging benefits, maintenance support, warranty coverage and potential ownership savings for modern Indian families.
As family priorities evolve, vehicle buyers are looking beyond seating capacity, boot space and air-conditioning performance. Connectivity, remote access, vehicle software and ownership expenses are also becoming relevant considerations for households accustomed to managing daily routines through digital platforms.
The VF 6 reflects this shift with a range of connected features designed to integrate the vehicle into the family’s existing digital lifestyle.
At the centre of its cabin is a 12.9-inch driver-oriented infotainment screen, which provides access to vehicle functions and entertainment. The electric SUV also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Dedicated Pet, Camp, Wash and Valet modes address different situations associated with everyday vehicle use.
The vehicle’s smartphone connectivity extends beyond the cabin. Through the VinFast smartphone app, owners can remotely control selected functions, including the doors, boot, windows, climate control and special modes. The app also allows users to check vehicle status and location and receive notifications for selected events. These capabilities enable owners to check or adjust the vehicle remotely before setting out, without needing to visit the parking area.
The VF 6 also supports over-the-air software updates, allowing compatible software and connected functions to be updated without requiring a workshop visit for every update.
Safety technology is another part of the package, particularly for families managing school runs and multiple daily errands. Depending on the variant, the India-spec VF 6 offers up to 14 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, along with seven airbags and a 360-degree surround-view monitoring system.
Higher variants can include adaptive cruise control, lane-centering control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert. The availability of these features depends on the variant, providing additional driver assistance alongside the vehicle’s connected functions.
Beyond technology and safety, VinFast is positioning the VF 6 around the potential financial benefits of switching from an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle to an electric vehicle.
The VF 6 is equipped with a 59.6-kWh usable battery and offers a range of up to 468 km under the MIDC test cycle, depending on the variant. Its higher-output version delivers up to 150 kW (204 PS) and 310 Nm of torque. Under specified conditions, DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 70% in around 25 minutes.
VinFast’s web-based Total Cost of Ownership tool estimates that the VF 6 Wind can deliver total savings of INR 4.4 lakh over three years compared with a common ICE vehicle, based on monthly driving of 1,500 km. According to the company’s calculations, this represents a 19% lower total cost of ownership. The estimated monthly energy cost for the VF 6 Wind is INR 1,544, compared with INR 9,281 for the ICE vehicle used in the comparison.
The company is also offering charging support under its applicable programme. Free charging at V-Green stations is available through March 31, 2029, potentially reducing charging expenses further during the eligible period.
For scheduled maintenance, VinFast offers free maintenance for up to 3 years or 36,000 km, whichever comes first. Under its ICE-to-EV programme, VF 6 buyers can also receive up to INR 154,000 in cash support, depending on the variant and eligibility.
Warranty coverage provides another element of the ownership proposition. The VF 6 is backed by a vehicle warranty of up to 7 years or 160,000 km and a battery warranty of up to 10 years or 200,000 km, depending on the applicable model and terms.
Together, these provisions address several aspects of electric vehicle ownership, including charging expenses, scheduled maintenance, purchase support and longer-term warranty coverage. The actual benefits available to individual buyers remain subject to the relevant programme conditions, vehicle variant and applicable terms.
The “Family 4.0” positioning ultimately centres on integrating the VF 6 into the routines of digitally connected households. Smartphone-based vehicle controls, over-the-air updates, driver-assistance technology and ownership support are intended to combine convenience with practical considerations associated with daily driving.
Rather than treating connectivity as a feature limited to the infotainment system, the VF 6 extends selected digital functions to remote vehicle access and software updates. Its electric powertrain and associated ownership programmes add another dimension to the package, bringing technology, safety assistance and running-cost considerations together in a family-oriented vehicle.
