Air India Flight Briefly Enters Pakistani Airspace During Go-Around at Amritsar Airport

An Air India flight from Delhi to Amritsar briefly entered Pakistani airspace while carrying out a go-around manoeuvre during landing at Amritsar airport. The airline reported the incident to regulatory authorities and launched an internal investigation, reiterating that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority amid heightened attention to border airspace operations.

An Air India flight operating from Delhi to Amritsar briefly entered Pakistani airspace while executing a go-around manoeuvre at Amritsar airport, prompting an internal investigation and notification to aviation regulators.

According to the airline, the incident involved flight AI479, which was operating from Delhi to Amritsar on June 22. During the landing phase at Amritsar airport, the crew carried out a go-around manoeuvre and marginally crossed into Pakistani airspace.

Air India said the incident has been reported to the regulatory authorities and is currently under internal investigation. In an official statement, the airline confirmed that the crew operating flight AI479 had marginally infringed into Pakistani airspace while manoeuvring during the go-around procedure at Amritsar airport.

The airline emphasised that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority. It added that the matter has been formally reported and is being examined to determine the circumstances surrounding the airspace infringement.
