M3M Foundation Facilitates HPV Vaccination for More Than 600 Girls in Haryana's Nuh Through Extensive Awareness Campaign
M3M Foundation, in partnership with the Health Department of Haryana, has facilitated Human Papillomavirus vaccination for more than 600 adolescent girls in Nuh district through a large-scale awareness campaign. Covering 84 villages and over 60 schools, the initiative aims to strengthen cervical cancer prevention and improve healthcare access through community engagement.
Adopting an innovative approach to health communication, M3M Foundation became one of the first corporate social responsibility organisations in Haryana to develop and implement dedicated Human Papillomavirus awareness Information, Education and Communication materials. Developed by SYImpact Consulting, the tools include interactive Snake and Ladder and Ludo games, flip books, quiz cards, awareness songs, informative video reels and artificial intelligence-powered storytelling modules. These resources have helped make conversations on preventive healthcare more engaging and accessible for communities.
What began as an awareness campaign has translated into tangible action. Through sustained mobilisation and community outreach, the initiative has facilitated the vaccination of more than 600 adolescent girls, exceeding its original targets.
The campaign spans 84 villages and 54 village councils in Tauru Block, including M.P. Ahir, Rathiwas, Khori Kalan, Charora, Padheni, Kalwari, Jaurasi, Shikarpur, Raheri, Chahalka and Jafrabad, among several other locations. More than 90 awareness sessions have been conducted across over 60 government schools. More than 3,000 stakeholders, including school students, mothers, teachers, Accredited Social Health Activists, health officials and community members, have participated in the campaign.
At the beginning of the initiative, widespread misinformation and social concerns posed significant challenges. Misconceptions related to infertility, fears regarding side effects, misleading narratives circulating on social media and religious misconceptions influenced public perceptions about Human Papillomavirus vaccination.
However, continuous engagement and open dialogue gradually helped build trust among families. While some members of the community remained hesitant, many accepted vaccination after understanding the importance of cervical cancer prevention and timely immunisation.
Dr. Nihal Singh Solanki, Senior Medical Officer at Community Health Centre Tauru, Haryana, said community awareness remains critical to the success of preventive healthcare programmes. He stated that the collaboration with M3M Foundation had strengthened acceptance of Human Papillomavirus vaccination and enabled health authorities to reach families more effectively at the grassroots level.
One beneficiary shared that she initially had doubts after hearing conflicting information from people and social media. She said attending an awareness session helped her understand the importance of the vaccine. After receiving the vaccination, she felt more confident and now encourages other girls to learn about it and make informed decisions regarding their health.
These experiences reflect a broader transformation taking place across communities, where awareness and dialogue are helping families overcome fear and make informed healthcare decisions for their daughters.
Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson and Trustee of M3M Foundation, said the initiative draws inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of preventive healthcare. She said the organisation remains committed to ensuring that girls in underserved communities receive accurate information and timely access to healthcare, adding that awareness has the power to transform communities and secure a healthier future for the next generation.
Through its continued partnership with the Health Department of Haryana, M3M Foundation remains focused on strengthening community health systems and ensuring that awareness leads to action, protecting the health and future of young girls in underserved regions.
M3M Foundation is the philanthropic arm of M3M Group and works across education, healthcare, livelihoods, sports and environmental sectors. The initiative highlights the growing role of community engagement in India's fight against cervical cancer and demonstrates how awareness-driven interventions can help break misconceptions, improve healthcare access and protect future generations.
