India, South Korea Push for Deeper Strategic Cooperation Amid Global Challenges
External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun reviewed cooperation across political, economic, defence, technology and cultural sectors during talks in Seoul. Stressing shared values and mutual trust, both sides explored new opportunities and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening India-South Korea relations amid a challenging global environment.
Speaking during his meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun in Seoul, Dr Jaishankar said the prevailing international situation makes closer collaboration among reliable partners more essential than ever. He underscored the significance of strengthening ties between the two nations across multiple sectors.
In a social media post following the meeting, the External Affairs Minister said both sides reviewed cooperation in political affairs, shipbuilding, trade, investments, defence, technology, clean energy, culture and people-to-people exchanges. They also discussed emerging opportunities in startups, financial technology and multilateral forums.
The two ministers exchanged views on developments in their respective regions as well as on issues affecting the wider world. Dr Jaishankar also appreciated the personal commitment shown by his South Korean counterpart toward advancing bilateral relations.
Emphasising India's commitment to stronger ties with Seoul, Dr Jaishankar said New Delhi values Minister Cho Hyun's dedication and looks forward to productive discussions aimed at expanding cooperation between the two countries.
