Ketan Agarwal, who belonged to a prominent real estate family in Pune, was actively involved in the construction business as a director. He had pursued his education at Boston University and was well-established in his professional sphere. His engagement had been arranged by his relatives, and in February, he got engaged to Siya Goyal. The couple was scheduled to marry in November.
According to the First Information Report filed by the victim’s family, Ketan began to grow suspicious of Siya Goyal’s behavior after some time. He reportedly confided in his family that her phone was frequently unreachable and that she often spoke about a man named Chetan Chaudhary. Ketan also expressed concerns and asked whether his family had properly verified Siya’s background.
Siya Goyal, aged 20, resides in the Market Yard area of Pune. Police sources, as reported by Network18, have indicated that Siya and Chetan Chaudhary had been in a relationship for approximately one year, which allegedly made Siya uncomfortable with her engagement to Ketan. It is further claimed that Siya wanted to distance herself from Ketan in any possible manner.
Chetan Chaudhary, whose full name is Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, is 22 years old. According to police findings, he was in love with Siya Goyal. A major breakthrough in the investigation came through CCTV footage, which showed Chetan moving around the Lohagad Fort area during the incident period while wearing a hoodie despite the summer heat. Although he attempted to conceal his identity, his behavior raised suspicion among investigators.
Further investigation revealed that Chetan had left his mobile phone at home in an apparent attempt to avoid tracking. However, surveillance cameras installed at toll plazas captured his images, helping investigators trace his movements and build a timeline of his presence near the crime scene.
The case continues to develop as authorities examine the roles of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary in the murder of Ketan Agarwal, with digital and surveillance evidence forming a crucial part of the investigation.
