Fiancée and Her Lover Arrested for Allegedly Pushing Businessman to Death at Pune's Lohagad Fort
Pune Police have arrested Siya Praveen Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, for the murder of businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal at Lohagad Fort. Investigators uncovered a weeks-long conspiracy, supported by 2,000 call records, CCTV footage and evidence of a previous failed attempt, turning an apparent accident into a sensational murder case.
Pune Police arrested 20-year-old Siya Praveen Goyal and 22-year-old Chetan Babulal Chaudhary in connection with the death of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal, who died after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18. The incident was initially reported as an accident, but investigators later uncovered evidence pointing to a planned murder.
According to the investigation, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had allegedly conspired over several weeks to eliminate Ketan Agarwal. Despite preparations for a lavish arranged marriage with Ketan, Siya reportedly refused to end her relationship with Chetan. Investigators found that the pair had planned the crime in advance and had even made a previous unsuccessful attempt to push the businessman from the fort.
Police examined nearly 2,000 call records during the investigation and recovered closed-circuit television footage showing Chetan Chaudhary following Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal before the incident. The evidence strengthened suspicions that the death was not accidental.
During questioning, both accused allegedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. The revelations left Ketan Agarwal's family devastated, with his father publicly questioning Siya Goyal's cruelty and expressing anguish over the betrayal.
The case has sparked widespread public outrage, with many discussing issues surrounding betrayal and the pressures associated with arranged marriages. The incident has also drawn attention because it transformed what was initially believed to be an accidental death into an alleged premeditated murder, exposing a conspiracy that investigators say had been carefully planned over weeks.
