Sharing details of the meeting, Goyal stated that discussions focused on expanding the India-Monaco partnership and identifying avenues for stronger economic collaboration. The talks covered a broad range of sectors, including sustainability initiatives, maritime economic development, innovation-driven growth and advanced technologies.
The minister also briefed Prince Albert II on Bharat Innovates 2026, India’s flagship technology and innovation event being held in Nice. The event is designed to showcase India’s dynamic technology and innovation ecosystem while strengthening international collaboration and fostering new global partnerships.
“Called on HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. We discussed expanding the India-Monaco partnership in sectors such as sustainability, the blue economy, innovation, and emerging technologies,” Goyal said.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, he added that Bharat Innovates 2026 serves as a platform to present India’s technological capabilities and innovation-driven growth story to the world. Expressing confidence in the future of bilateral ties, Goyal said India-Monaco relations are expected to reach greater heights in the coming years.
In a parallel development, the minister called upon the 3,000 shortlisted innovators participating in Bharat Innovates 2026 to submit recommendations aimed at strengthening India’s deep technology ecosystem. Addressing the valedictory session in Nice, Goyal said the government intends to incorporate these suggestions into future policy frameworks, industry collaborations and free trade opportunities for startups.
He announced that the second edition of the Startup Fund of Funds will be largely dedicated to supporting deep technology entrepreneurs and innovators, underlining the government’s focus on advancing cutting-edge innovation.
Goyal also encouraged participants to evaluate how the Ministry of Commerce and Industry can assist them in commercialising their products, establishing partnerships within India and internationally, and leveraging Free Trade Agreements to accelerate growth. He urged innovators to prepare concise recommendations and submit them to the government for consideration at the highest levels.
The discussions with Monaco and the outreach to innovators at Bharat Innovates 2026 underscore India’s growing emphasis on technology-led economic development, international cooperation and deep technology innovation. The initiatives reflect the government’s broader strategy to strengthen global partnerships while creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, innovators and emerging industries.
