According to local residents, the incident reportedly took place last month under the jurisdiction of Kaudiya Police Station. The controversy stems from a complaint filed by Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Chainapur village, who accused Ramesh, Rameshwar, Arvind, Parag, and several others of assault.
Following the complaint, Constable Neeraj Singh, posted at the Dubaha Police Outpost, allegedly detained the accused individuals and brought them to the outpost for questioning. The youths later claimed that when they attempted to present their side of the dispute, police personnel became angry and began assaulting them.
The viral video appears to show several baton strikes being delivered to the youths within a matter of seconds. According to the allegations, other police personnel present at the outpost were not only witnessing the incident but were also encouraging the assault while secretly recording the video.
Local sources claimed that the dispute was linked to a personal relationship matter. They alleged that the youths were beaten with batons inside the police outpost and were subsequently booked the following day on charges of disturbing public peace.
The circulation of the video on social media has reportedly created panic within the police department and intensified scrutiny of the incident. The allegations have also reignited concerns over the conduct of law enforcement personnel and the treatment of detainees inside police facilities.
Adding to the controversy, local residents alleged that the accused constable has been posted at the Dubaha Police Outpost for several years and enjoys the backing of influential local political figures and powerful individuals. According to these claims, despite being transferred to other jurisdictions on multiple occasions, he was repeatedly reassigned to the same outpost.
Police personnel familiar with the matter further alleged that the constable had also been transferred to the Government Railway Police. However, they claimed that due to external pressure, he has not yet joined his new assignment and continues to remain associated with his current area of operation.
As the video continues to circulate online, the incident has become a major talking point in the district, raising serious questions about accountability, abuse of authority, and the functioning of local law enforcement agencies.
