Son Kills Father in Brutal Assault Over Dispute in Rath; Victim Dies During Treatment, Accused Arrested
A son in Rath, Hamirpur allegedly assaulted his 60-year-old father following a domestic dispute, critically injuring him. The victim was referred to Orai Medical College but died during treatment. Police arrested the accused and initiated legal action based on the family’s complaint, leaving the household devastated.
The victim, 60-year-old Shivram Ahirwar, a resident of Tola Khangaran village under Chickasi Police Station limits, had been running a sugarcane juice shop at the bus stand in Rath for the past 40 years while residing with his family in Atrauliya locality of the town.
According to reports, Shivram’s son, Nareesh Chaudhary, who works as an e-rickshaw driver, returned home on Tuesday evening after driving his vehicle. A heated argument broke out between father and son over an undisclosed issue, which escalated into violence. In a fit of rage, Nareesh allegedly attacked his father multiple times with a wooden stick, inflicting severe injuries.
The critically injured Shivram was rushed by family members in an unconscious state to the Community Health Centre in Rath. After receiving initial treatment, Dr. Kanisht Mahur referred him to the Orai Medical College due to the severity of his condition. Despite medical efforts, Shivram died late at night during treatment.
The incident has left the family devastated. The deceased’s wife Sushma Devi, daughter-in-law Kamlesh, and grandchildren Ashik, Mayank, and Payal were seen grieving uncontrollably following the tragedy.
Kotwali Rath Police Station In-Charge Anoop Singh confirmed that the accused, Nareesh, has been arrested. He further stated that the victim’s relatives are currently in Orai and further legal proceedings will be initiated based on their formal complaint.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns over escalating domestic conflicts turning fatal, leaving an entire family shattered and a community in shock.
