Rahul Gandhi Targets Modi, Shah and Gyanesh Kumar, Vows INDIA Bloc Will Fight for Democracy
Rahul Gandhi targets PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar after an INDIA Alliance meeting in New Delhi, vowing to continue the fight over alleged vote theft, electoral transparency and constitutional protection.
Addressing the media, Gandhi said the objective of the opposition's movement was to protect the Constitution. He maintained that the parties would remain united in their opposition to the BJP and continue their campaign over alleged vote theft, which he described as an issue concerning ordinary citizens rather than a political matter.
Rahul Gandhi on Gyanesh Kumar: ‘Transparent Elections Have Ended’
Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that transparent elections had been brought to an end under his watch. He said the opposition's team would not stop and reiterated that the issue of alleged vote theft was not merely political but concerned the general public.
Reaffirming the opposition's unity against the BJP, Gandhi said the parties were standing together as one. He alleged that democracy was being dismantled and referred to a decision that would no longer allow democratic protests at Jantar Mantar.
‘Modi Is the Architect, Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar Are the Implementers’
Targeting the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister and the Chief Election Commissioner, Gandhi said Modi was the “architect” of the alleged dismantling of democracy, while Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar were the “implementers”.
Gandhi asserted that democracy could not be eliminated and said the scenes witnessed the previous day reflected the sentiments of ordinary citizens, not merely those of a political party. He added that the movement was being carried out on behalf of Indians and for the future of the country.
‘We Will Keep Fighting Together’
Referring to his press conference the previous day, Gandhi reiterated that the opposition would not back down. He said the team would continue its efforts until it reached its “end goal”, adding that not everything would be disclosed immediately and that the opposition had surprises in store.
“We will keep fighting together,” Gandhi said, reaffirming the INDIA Alliance's resolve to continue its campaign. He also said the opposition respected the Chief Justice of India and expected the judiciary to play its role.
The INDIA Alliance has been staging protests in New Delhi against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the past few days, demanding his resignation. Gandhi's latest remarks underscored the opposition's stated determination to continue its campaign around electoral transparency, alleged vote theft and the protection of the Constitution.
